Becky & James - Mimosa Barn

I can’t believe how long it has taken me to get this blog post together, but I’m so excited to finally share Becky & James’ gorgeous wedding day! They got married in April at one of my all-time favorite venues on the Eastern Shore. Mimosa Barn is such an incredible property, and if you’re looking for the perfect waterfront venue, check it out!

When I first met Becky & James, I was immediately drawn to how friendly they both were. Working with them was always like chatting with old friends, always full of so much joy. {I mean, they even gave a thank you speech to all of their vendors during dinner. Cue all the tears!} Fast forward to their wedding weekend, and it was so obvious where Becky & James got their incredible attitudes and welcoming nature. Their friends and family were so sweet and their big day was such an amazing party honoring both the couple and all the people that have had an effect on their life together. Those kinds of wedding days warm my heart so much and I’m still in awe over the fact that I get to call this my job.

There were so many sweet details woven throughout the weekend, starting with the dress Becky wore for the rehearsal. She had her mother’s wedding dress & her grandmother’s wedding dress tailored into a perfect dress for herself. I teared up as soon as I saw it and it wasn’t even the gown she wore for the wedding day! Those kinds of details always tug at my heart and this was no exception.

Becky’s mom played such a huge role in the planning of their wedding day and she surprised Becky & James with custom wine labels on the bottles for each table. And if you know me at all, you know I love a good wine detail! These were beautiful and the guests loved the touch!

The week leading up to the wedding was full of some of the craziest storms our area has seen this year. Even during the rehearsal, I was watching the sky as all our phones were popping up with tornado warnings. But when the big day arrived, we had blue skies and the best breeze ever. I’m going to credit that luck to Becky & James burying the bourbon a month out from the wedding. I LOVE when my couples take part in such a fun tradition, and I can honestly say it’s worked for every one of my couples to date that have done it! So if you’re having an outside wedding, consider burying a bottle of bourbon at the ceremony site 30 days prior to your big day for clear skies.

Congratulations Becky & James! We love you so so much! My team & I had the best time getting to know you and all your favorite people! Here are a few of my favorite images from your perfect day!
